How to Get 0 Input Delay on PC:
The Real Lowest-Latency Setup
True zero delay is impossible, but you can get very close. Where every millisecond comes from, the settings that remove the most, and why "0 delay" downloads do not work.
"0 input delay" does not exist: reading the mouse, running the game, rendering and displaying a frame all take time. The biggest cuts come from a high refresh rate, high FPS, Reflex or Anti-Lag 2, and no V-Sync. Downloadable "0 delay" tools and .bat files do not remove these delays.
The lowest-latency setup:
Right-click the desktop > NVIDIA Control Panel, set these once and click Apply. Leave everything else on default.
Manage 3D settings > Global Settings
Manage 3D settings > Program Settings
Display > Change resolution
Video > Adjust video color settings
Optional, only if you use G-SYNC: Display > Set up G-SYNC
Your click passes through five stages before it shows on screen. Knowing the size of each stage tells you where to focus.
Mouse: one report every 1 ms at 1000 Hz, 0.125 ms at 8000 Hz. Game and CPU: about one frame of work: 4 ms at 250 FPS. GPU queue: can add several frames when the GPU is at 99%, which Reflex and Anti-Lag 2 remove. Display: a new image every 4.2 ms at 240 Hz, 6.9 ms at 144 Hz, 16.7 ms at 60 Hz, plus the panel's response time.
So the biggest wins are refresh rate, frame rate and an empty GPU queue. Windows registry tweaks act on the smallest parts of the chain, if at all.
Step-by-step
-
1.Raise refresh rate and FPS
- Make sure Windows runs your monitor at its highest refresh rate (Settings > System > Display > Advanced display).
- Lower graphics settings that cost FPS but do not help visibility (shadows, volumetrics, post-processing).
-
2.Empty the GPU queue
- Turn on NVIDIA Reflex On + Boost or AMD Anti-Lag 2 in every game that has it.
- In games without them, set Low Latency Mode to On in the NVIDIA Control Panel, and cap FPS below what your GPU can hold if it sits at 99%.
-
3.Remove display delay
- Turn V-Sync off unless you use G-SYNC/FreeSync (then G-SYNC + V-Sync + Reflex + a cap below refresh).
- Use fullscreen. Set your monitor's overdrive to the level that looks cleanest, not the maximum (maximum often causes overshoot).
- Turn off monitor features that add processing, such as dynamic contrast or motion "enhancement".
-
4.Cut mouse delay
- Wired or 2.4 GHz wireless (not Bluetooth), 1000 Hz or higher on a capable CPU, rear USB port.
- Turn off Enhance pointer precision and use raw input in game.
-
5.Measure the result
- Use the Reflex latency overlay or NVIDIA FrameView to see PC latency before and after.
- See our full low input lag guide for the remaining steps (driver latency, presentation mode, old tweak cleanup).
Check that it worked
- ✓PC latency in FrameView or the Reflex overlay is lower than before.
- ✓Your FPS is well above your refresh rate, or capped just below it with VRR.
What does not work (and why)
✗ "0 input delay" .bat files and downloads
They change registry and timer values that act on tiny parts of the chain, often not at all. Some break Windows features.
✗ Timer resolution tools give 0 delay
They improve sleep precision, not the delays above. On Windows 10 they do not even affect other programs.
✗ Controller "overclock" gives 0 delay
A higher controller polling rate can shave about a millisecond. It does not remove frame or display delay.
✗ "Reflex Ultra"
Reflex has Off, On and On + Boost.
The parts that depend on your exact hardware
Everything above is free and safe on any PC. The parts below depend on your exact CPU, RAM, motherboard and games, so they need live testing. That is what a 1-on-1 YTUNE session covers:
- ✓Driver latency (DPC/ISR) analysis and fixes for your hardware
- ✓RAM and BIOS tuning for higher, steadier FPS
- ✓Per-game latency testing with FrameView

"+rep y1assine, my ram wasn't even running at proper timings and my gpu had power saving interrupts on. gained 180+ fps avg and hitregistration feels instant now."
"tysm yassine!! i tried so many youtube tweaks before and broke my windows twice. he spent 2 hours in my bios & windows and my mouse input delay is completely gone 🙏"
"fixed all the fps drops i was getting in apex hot drops. guy is super patient, explained everything live on anydesk and tracking feels so much smoother now. definitely recommend"
